About American DJ Saber Spot WW Pinspot
The Saber Spot WW is a compact Pinspot with a 15-Watt warm white LED. Features DMX-512, flicker-free operation, strobing, electronic dimming and has a 4-Button DMX display system on the rear panel. Its built-in ACL lens produces a razor sharp 4-degree beam angle.
American DJ Saber Spot WW pinspot has a scissor bracket system that allows the fixture to be hung or set on the ground, and is ideal for performance stages, installations, table spotting, lighting retail stores.
Powered by a single, flicker-free 15-Watt 4-in-1 RGBW LED, the Saber Spot RGBW features a built-in ACL (Advanced Collimator optic Lens) that produces a razor sharp shaft of light with a tight 4-degree beam angle. This combination of an extremely potent 15W LED light-source and the focused ACL lens generates a beam that is significantly brighter than any previous ADJ pinspot.
Thanks to its quad-color LED that incorporates red, green, blue, and white elements, the fixture is capable of creating a vast palette of different color hues. It also features 9 built-in color macros which allow easy selection of common colors via DMX or directly from the unit’s on-board 4-button LCD menu display.
The Saber Spot RGBW offers a choice of 6 different operating modes, making the unit suitable for a wide range of applications. Static Color Mode allows any of the unit’s Color Macros to be easily selected for continuous light output, while the Sound Active Mode will automatically cycle through the colors trigged by an internal microphone. Alternatively, the unit can be set to run in Auto Run Mode, cycling through pre-programmed chase patterns at a speed of your choosing. There is also a Color Fade Mode, which offers subtle transitions between colors, as well as a Color Change Mode. Finally, the unit can also be controlled via DMX, with a choice of 11 different channel modes.
In addition to the Saber Spot RGBW, another model – the American DJ Saber Spot WW pinspot – is also available. This is the fixture to choose if you don’t want the option of multi-colored light, but do want to achieve a classic retro pinspot look. Featuring a 15-Watt Warm White LED, this model benefits from the same ACL lens and high power as its counterpart, but offers an output similar to a filament-based Par36 lamp. This model is perfect for projecting on a mirrorball to create the timeless effect of countless spinning warm white beams of light, but with the added advantages of LED technology.
American DJ Saber Spot WW pinspot version also features an in-built LED 4-button display, which can be used to set it running continuously or to activate DMX control. A choice is available between a basic 1-channel mode – which simply dims the light output – and a 2-channel mode that also provides access to the unit’s variable speed strobe effect.
Both models feature the same sleek casing design and flexible scissor yoke. This locks into place by plastic thumbscrews located on either side, and can serve either as a floor stand or hanging bracket. The main body is constructed from tough molded plastic, while the scissor bracket is powder-coated metal.
Weighing just 2.6 lbs. / 1.2 kgs. and measuring 3.5” x 6.75” x 3.5” / 88 x 170 x 87mm (LxWxH), both Saber Spot models are extremely compact and lightweight. In fact, the casing is so small that there isn’t room on the back panel for all the input and output connections. Therefore the 3-pin XLR input and output sockets are provided on short trailing cables.
The power input and output sockets are mounted to the back panel itself, taking the form of professional-grade locking powerCON sockets. These can be used to link together the power supply for multiple Saber Spot fixtures, minimizing the number of cables needed for a lightshow and therefore reducing setup times and making for neater installations.
The pinspot effect is timeless. Pinspots remain valuable tools for creating lightshows – both permanent and mobile – as they have been for many decades. And, with compact cases, versatile brackets, powerful LEDs and ACL lens, the new ADJ Saber Spot fixtures are pinspots, but in a league of their own!
